"As Scouting's National Honor Society, our purpose is to crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others."

Service to our community, the scout units of New York City, and the camps of the Greater New York Councils is at the heart of the purpose of our lodge. The Service Committee coordinates all lodge service activities and tracks chapter service activities.

OA Service Grant Work Weekend

Iservicegrantn December, our lodge was awarded a $4000 2015 OA Service Grant from the National OA Committee in support of the plans to relocate the shotgun range at Camp Keowa. A condition of the grant being awarded to our lodge, is that the OA will be involved in provided man-power towards the project's completion.

The initial work weekend at the new shotgun range will take place on April 10-12, 2015. Brothers may arrive at Camp Keowa in the evening of Friday, April 10th. Sleeping arrangements at Camp Keowa have been made for up to 34 brothers.  Work projects will take place all day Saturday, April 11th and part of Sunday Morning, April 12th. Meals will be provided on both days.  (We will need some help with meal preparation). There is no cost to attend the work weekend.

Tools and materials will be provided by the TMR Rangers. All brothers are asked to bring their own work gloves.

This is a significant project for our lodge and Camp Keowa. The more hands to work, the better! If you are looking to fulfill your 25 hours of service for your Arrowman Service Award, this is a great weekend to rack up more than half of the hours needed.

Planning to attend? Please RSVP using the form below.  If you have any questions about the weekend, please contact Service Committee Chairman Eli Silver and/or Service Committee Adviser Alex Agostini
